Be honest, why does Ward want to fight a smaller guy so bad?

You know, I was going to agree with this wholeheartedly.. but on second thought, I don't see it. It's not gonna be a big fight. Golovkin is still not known in US and nobody remembers Ward.

So.. I basically don't know. He should have challenged Degale or Kov off the bat. Golovkin does nothing for him.

    Ward makes no sense :-/

I didn't say Golovkin is a huge draw, but he is the biggest draw. Kovalev has few fans. Degale even in England is yet to really kick on and collect a fanbase, though that will change if he keeps winning.

Golovkin-Ward will give Ward the biggest purse and the bigger chance of winning than facing Kovalev. That is a fact, Kovalevs purse against Hopkins was only $500,000. After taxes and deductions he only took home $125,000. Golovkins base purse against Lemieux was $2M not counting PPV. Golovkins purse against Rubio was just over $1M. That is why Ward wants to fight him.

        Reasons:

        1. Big money fight.
        2. Little G and his team mentioning Ward.
        3. Little G trying to make fights at 168.
        4. Little G repeatedly saying he'll fight anyone from 154-168.
        5. It's a fight most fight fans want to see.

Wow I didn't know that Kov's purse was that low. Makes sense, thanks!

What kind of weird crap is that? That would be like Golovkin trying so hard to get a fight with Floyd. Wards fans would be so mad at that, so why are they so focused on the smaller man who they say Ward would easily beat? Don't fans want their favorites to overcome great challenges anymore?

Because golovkin was having a hard time finding opponents. So the 168 king said I'll fight him.

Roy jones was the king of 160 and went up and fought the king of 168 (toney).

that's the way it's supposed to work.

just like Ward the king of 168 is gonna fight the king of 175 next year (kovalev)

Well GGG was willing to fight Froch and Chavez at 168 but not Ward without a catch weight of 164. When he first became popular his coach said they would fight anybody from 154 to 168. Now they have backtracked and stated they want to stay at 160 unless they can get a Mayweather fight at 154. Mayweather has never weighed over 151.

Based on them being 2 of the 5 or 6 best fighters in the world and being separated by a single division.

Are you really going to play this dumb? Damn.

The thread starter is just trolling, he and everyone criticizing Ward for taking interest in fighting GGG already know where the idea first developed......GGG's own camp. The crap about him being bigger, fighting at LHW in the Olympics is BS.

What I don't understand is why GGG fanatical still feel the need to disparage Ward when it's obvious he's set his sights on Kovalev.

I'm glad Ward scared the shıt out of GGG. This is what happens when you guys buy into what K2 or Sanchez states running their mouths for the last years that they'd take on any 154 or 168lb, even when Ward was not active.

This is the reason the whole beef started. K2 and Sanchez had no idea Ward would even come into the mix as he wasn't able to fight.

Ward never opened his mouth about a small GGG, it was the other way around. You guys eat up gossip quite immaturely.
