Comments Thread For: Saunders: Golovkin Would Decapitate Chris Eubank Jr!

WBO #1 Ranked middleweight challenger Billy Joe Saunders, who challenges Irishman Andy Lee for the WBO World Middleweight Title on Saturday 19th December at the Manchester Arena, was bullish in his assessment about former foe Chris Eubank Jr in a recent comment.

Saunders, who took Eubank’s unbeaten record in November of last year in a comprehensive 12 round decision win said: “It’s funny how people are thinking that Eubank is going to go on to be some elite fighter now he’s trained by Adam Booth, fact is he was outclassed by me, and he is nowhere near the elite level guys like myself and Andy are.”

I hope Saunders is proven wrong on this one because Eubank Jr has the hype and the name to bring more fans to boxing, sure he might be living off his fathers name but that isn't a bad thing when its bringing in people watching the sport.

Spike O'Sullivan should provide a good test for Jr though.

Jr not as good as his dad. Chavez jr not as good as his dad.
I think Eubank senior vs Golovkin is an interesting fight.

Yet I respect that honesty more than I do the faking of the funk about fighting him some other boxers have done and only to turn around and announce a fight a week later or take the post fight press conference to avoid the question about fighting him.

I like Eubank and the needle he brings like the old man once did , I also rate his ability but a fighter like Golovkin would at this time ruin him .The way that G, uses range both in and out is a pleasure to watch he never seems flustered hits hard even with unconventional shots and seems to have the chin to match.
Chris probably knows that shouting out the best will make the most noise but will also know he's a good bit off that level.
Chris needs to erase the Sanders lost first before any of this can be looked at seriously but he seems to be improving all the time.

Didn't Eubank Sr get badly hurt against Joe Calzaghe?
I think his son might have the better chin on this one.

His dad was way past his prime by a decade or so, plus or minus.

Saunders is GGG's biggest Stan lol. He's gonna bite GGG's technicolor dream coat style for the Andy Lee fight I bet. Start calling him "Big Bro."

I've heard this quote being thrown around a lot. I know he said it, but how many times? Constantly, or just once? Being a ***** with quite a motormouth on him, Saunders talks a lot of shit. He's a fighter - as if he'd do a Quillin and duck Golovkin for a good payday and world titles.
