Ehhh, not the best fight possible, but if its a stay busy fight for the winner of cotto-canelo, its fine. Still better than wards opponent.

I understand GGG wants to stay busy but he should sit this one out. It does nothing for him at the moment and will only give the winner of Cotto/Canelo some room to wiggle out of fighting him.

What GGG needs to do is wait for the winner of the Cotto/Canelo bout and start calling them out right there and then. Apply the pressure and let it be known that you're ready willing and able to start negotiations right away.

If he were to take this stay busy fight then either Cotto or Canelo will take a stay busy fight and round and round we go. We'll have another Wilder/Povetkin on our hands.

Shouldn't be in the US unless this supposed triple header with Roman and Inoue/Narvaez pops off

Tureano won a position of IBF mandatory. GGG just plays by the book. What is wrong with this? Canelo/Cotto winner will not be ready for February anyway. Not a necessary fight, but if he feels comfortable being active - why not. I think by February the negotiations between Cotto/Canelo winner and K2 will be finalized.

Tureano just became the IBF #1 contender.

If GGG faces him in February and is successful that still leaves him the opening to fight against the winner of Cotto/Canelo in May.

Tureano is a very skilled boxer and can fight from either stance. Unless Gennady is able to bomb him out of there, Johnson will provide a very difficult test.

If people are unaware of Johnson then I urge them to watch film on him. Very talented.

Also what this does is keep Gennady active and earning another payday while expanding his brand. This is how Boxing is supposed to be. As long as you are healthy you are supposed to stay active. Fighting once or twice a year when you have a clean bill of health and are still in the prime of your career is IMO lazy & counterproductive.

                      He's fighting 4 times a year doe.

This is certainly a more meaningful fight then fighting someone else that we aren't allowed to mention doe.
