It's a good fight but its long overdue and didn't need to be built up as long as it has. It went from a meaningful unification fight to a meaningless fight between 2 fringe contenders for a fake WBA trinket where the winner won't fight GGG.

This ain't about the Jacobs fight. Lou getting all butt hurt emotional is about PBC and all the negativity surrounding PBC and AL Haymon. They are under fire from fans and media, he is accused of being a puppet for Haymon (which he is), you got a fighter in a coma and because Haymon refuses to speak to the media it puts Lou in a bad spot where he has to talk and field questions about PBC even when he trying to promote a non PBC fight.

No they don't but it's very rare that a promoter would invest time and money to build up a fighter that he does not have a contract with. All the PBC fighters are signed with Haymon and he is their defacto promoter. That's what the entire lawsuit from Golden Boy against Haymon is about. Haymon is the real promoter and hires guys like Lou to lend him their promoter license put their name on the card and he pays them a small fee while Haymon pays and handles all the real promoter duties. Haymon needs those fake promoters because its illegal for him to be both a manager and promoter. That's why Lou is upset because people calling him a haymon puppet.

This is a good matchup. Hopefully it will turn out to be a good fight.

DiBella was on Twitter last week bragging on how the big favorite (Devon Alexander) lost. He seemed totally oblivious to the fact that it was a crappy fight to watch. You shouldn't be bragging when the right guy gets his hand raised.

Great??? I dig DiBella, but I don't got quite the confidence he seems to have. Quillin is a f#cking space cadet who seems to lack focus far too often to ever achieve what he could & Jacobs just seems f#cking happy to be alive & have a title belt after the messed up things he's been through. Although having said that its not the craziest bet to suggest this fight will turn out more entertaining & compelling than GGG vs Lemieux now that that fight has took place & underperformed in competitiveness & excitement.

I think the PBC vs HBO thing is more likely to prevent that fight than anything to do with either fighter. I think those promotional/TV Channel differences prevent more fights than a guy not wanting a fight.
