Carbajal-Chiquita got that 22 yrs ago. This fight could get built to that pretty easy by next year. Not unreasonable considering the various revenue streams they could draw from and any gate. At say $50, they'd only have to do 100K PPV buys if HBO didn't want to sweeten for it and they probably could get near that.

The lil guys always get payed worse. The best 112lber can make less than the 8th best 147lber who can make less than a HW who's gassing after 4 rounds. It is what it is.

Bigger = Better in boxing...for the most part. There are outliers like Floyd & Manny among others who make freakish sums & aren't HW's or lesser fighters.

I'll be surprised if Gonzalez can get $1M for that fight & I'd be utterly shocked if he can get the $2M. Would be nice to see doe. He's one of the best boxers regardless of his weight penalizing him for many fans.

He and Gallo lack the English skills to appeal to many markets. But both great fighters. I want to see them go at it. PAC & Floyd are little guys in my opinion. But they got paid. It is all about marketing. $$$$ invested in image creation & branding === bigger sales for the fight.
