Punch your way out is not said often enough anymore. The ref's job is not to save anybody unless it's a stoppage. In the fight, it is all about action. Inside fighting is missing now because they break guys apart too often. Punch your way out.

Excessive holding is against the rules unless your favorite fighter does it then its consider masterful. It's sad how rules change based on location, promoter, or what's at stake. Some fighters got away with it longer than should have been allowed. But that's how corrupt the sport is money buys fights in more ways than one.

I think 3 deliberate holds for no reason deserves a warning.....then go to taking points away if they continue to do it.

Padilla was a great referee, made guys fight. Small in stature, but definitely in charge in the ring.
