I love people who say that Ward needs a few easy fights before getting back to fighting monsters like Kovalev. Well the fact of the matter is this...

WARD NEVER IN HIS LIFE FACED ANYONE CLOSE TO KOVALEV!!!

Fighting these total sacrificial lambs will NOT prepare him for Kovalev or Beterbiev or Stevenson or ANY LHW fighter. This fight is a farce and HBO should be ashamed and embarrassed to have this on one of their PPVs. This calibre of fight belongs on BET.

I certainly hope that once this becomes official, that WBA finally stand up and strip Ward of his last remaining title? It is an embarrassment to the sport that he has held it so long without a defense. This will make two fights at LHW and proves he is no longer a SMW champion.

Ward can get a better workout in the gym and by sparring than this clown will give him in the ring. This kid is not even a LHW! He is a SMW who will have to bulk up for the fight. This is more ridiculous than Cotto draining Geale down to nothing.

And people still have this guy on the top of their P4P lists? With a straight face? C'mon! Ward should be testing himself against bigger opponents, stronger opponents, not against young kids who have never fought at the weight. This is worse than having Golovkin bring someone like Liam Smith up from Jr. MW to fight him. At least Smith is ranked top 10. This is a prime example of Ward being a bully and I find it disgusting that HBO is a party to this.
