There are no clear cut requirements for the Hall of Fame, but in your opionion if Ward retired right now, do you think he should be inducted in the Hall of Fame.

I'm a big Ward fan but I'd have to say no. Ward needs a one or two signature victories during the back half of his career to make the Hall of Fame. A win over Kovalev would push him closer to the mark but he'd still need another solid victory after that.

I think he can sneak in. Someone like Froch is probably a HOF and he beat Froch straight in his prime.

Froch's resume also stinks on Ward's.

Cleared out his division and unbeaten, I'd say he just about gets in. Would be pissed if he retired right now though, I'm expecting some big fights for him in the future.

Yes. He would go to the hall of fame. He has never lost a fight and he has defeated enough big names to get in. I don't like Ward but the truth is the truth and he will end up in the hall of fame.

Sure but the HOF isn't exactly that hard to get into. Ward won the super 6 and beat a HOF on the way and was high on the P4P list for a few years.

I don't agree he'd be a HOF but he would probably sneak in.

You all have legitimate arguments, but if you look at people in the hall of fame, those who said Ward isn't would reconsider. Like Carlos Monzon who basically stayed in Argentina and a beat alot of nobodies his whole career. Or Arturo Gatti, who although he put on great fights, was never that great of a fighter and I can go on.
