He hasn't fought canelo or cotto yet nor has he faced any viable challenges. If david knew how to get past his jab we may have had a more interesting fight. Unifying the titles against limited competition is not the stuff elites, legends or all time greats are made of. To get the recognition he desires he is going to have to face ward and beat him.

Too bad he doesn't have any real weakeness, other than mortality. He is among the most technically and fundamentally flawless fighters in the sport, along with Rigo, Lomachenko, Roman, and Kovalev.

He'll fight them soon unless they duck him. Even if they forfeit, he still gets that belt. And he's already getting all that recognition, as much as it pains you.

If he does fight them he still wont get the recognition because they are smaller fighters. There will still be those who claim he hasn't faced any real threats he needs to fight ward if he is going to prove himself.

Honestly ggg looks like a super middle in comparison to the fighters he's faced. He is really a super MW and needs to just fight at his natural weight.

Too bad size in boxing is not measured with the eye test. They use the scale instead. And his last 2 fights he was 170 fight night, less that many SWWs:

                    Canelo 172 - Trout 171
                    Canelo 174 vs Angulo
                    Lara 170.5 vs Smith
                    ...

Because he can make 160 doesn't necessarily mean he's a natural 160 pounder and belongs at the weight.
