Idk that we need to talk to Oscar to know what Lemieux could have did. Take a mfing risk for starters.
Lemieux seemed perfectly happy just being in the ring for as long as possible Saturday without putting much thought or ability into winning the fight. I, & virtually everyone, had GGG as a huge favorite, but I expected much more effort on Lemieux's behalf. I expected him to show some bravery in losing in there or maybe even win a round or two while attempting to be more competitive, but he came up way shorter than I expected by just not being present during the fight I almost wanna say.Comment

I agree with you 100%. After all the tough talk coming from Lemieux, his performance in the ring was disgraceful. Look at how many threads there are here on the board about Lemieux's tough guy quote of the moment. Then he gets his chance and is too chicken shyt to get in there and mix it up. It would not have been a disgrace to go in with both fists swinging and getting KTFO but it was a disgrace to not even give it a try after all that pre-fight bravado from him and Oscar and Hopkins. His performance was embarrassing for Golden Boy, it was embarrassing for Montreal and for the province of Quebec and the country of Canada who supported him. He owes every one of his fans an apology.Idk that we need to talk to Oscar to know what Lemieux could have did. Take a mfing risk for starters.

I can sum it up in a few words, Needed to Establish his Jab.
He lost the jab war and it was down hill from their.Comment

If a fighter has no head movement, can't slip, weave or parry the most basic punch in boxing which is the jab, can't estimate distance and has slow sense of timing with overall bad defense and foot movement, he shouldn't be competing at this level in the first place and nothing Dela Hoya could tell him to change anything, he's just a fundamentally flawed fighter and he didn't have what it take to compete at that level, it's really that simple.
Even his offense was awful, telegraphed his punches, no use of angles or head movement going in, no grit or determination to back GGG and force him to fight in close, no body punching, no feints, nothing at all, the fight was really over in the first round, and I posted here after the first round and said the same thing, I'd have Lemieux as an underdog against all top middleweights and even some top light middleweights.Comment
