How many rounds of that would Cotto take?

Lets put it this way - those plaster hands of Margarito will be nothing compared to the iron in GGG's fists. A brutal beat down would be the only outcome for Cotto.

At least he would take home a fortune and keep his pride intact if he was to step in with GGG.

If I was his manager, I'd vacate the WBC belt and step to 154 after Canelo.

Cotto is 5'7", weighed 153lbs in his last weigh in, his next fight is 155lbs, and according to GGG himself Cotto is "old". So I imagine a shorter, smaller, old fighter would not be able to take that much punishment from such a large, taller, long armed and powerful fullblown MW weighing 170lbs on fight night. It would probably be a 163lb Cotto vs 170lb Golovkin, not a very good match even though Cotto is the most skilled MW other than GGG himself, he is just too small.

Who has Lemieux beat for you to make that statement? In what way is he better than Canelo other than maybe power?

If I was his manager Id retire after Canelo. He has made a lot of money, and had a very long, rough career filled with many difficult fights. He is at this point jeopardizing his health.

Based on his last couple of fights, I'm not sure you could say that. He's looked better now than he's done for the last 5 years.

Depending on how he looks vs Canelo, I would decide on his future after. One thing's for sure, he doesn't win vs GGG and he would probably get badly damaged.

Cotto would be no match at all for GGG. GGG could knock him out in a round or two if he wanted to. Cotto probably won't fight him anyway because I think Canelo will knock Cotto out.

It would be a difficult fight for Golovkin, in my opinion. Cotto is difficult to beat and is far more technically sound than anyone he's faced. The funny thing is, all you guys said the same things before the Martinez fight.

Daniel Geale is a pretty good middleweight who was world champion a couple of years ago. Before he was destroyed by Golovkin, he was a respected fighter.

Cotto's fought some guys in the past below that level, and never looked that good imo.
