Waiting and hoping to hear that he comes out of the coma and says something funny like you often hear when people come out. I wish there was a report that indicates when the coma can lift if it is medically induced which I think it is.

There is no blame, it was an accident. The fight got rough, Colon got hit on the back of the head, but he was turned away. Defend yourself at all times, you can't turn your head the other way. He retaliated with a low blow, so it seemed he was all right, he was fighting back, but his inside game disappeared. He started grabbing and wrestling, and nobody, absolutely nobody knew how bad he was hurt, so he was DQ'd. There were signs, he complained of dizziness in the corner, but only in hind sight can I say it mattered, because he is a warrior and he didn't want to lose, so he kept going. He didn't quit.

i have not seen the fight, but i'm going to keep my own council on what measure of blame is to be placed, and where.

at the very least, if a fighter is mentioning that he's dizzy in his corner, warning signs are present. i've watched a ton of boxing in my life. more thani care to think about. fighters complaining of dizzyness in their corners is very, very rare, and a possible sign of something being seriously wrong.

Moral lesson here is if you know you're going to apply clinching tactic as part of your defensive arsenal, make sure you have the right ref for it.

Or make sure you use both hands and hold like a vise grip so that the ref will be forced to interfere. This is also what happens when the ref does nothing when excessive clinching occurs. Williams, in this case, was pissed and returned the favor. Fight would probably would have ended early and not much damage would have been made.

Reff should be banned. i have no idea why he kept letting the other guy hit him so many times behind the head. there is a ****ing reason those shots are ilegal in boxing. His poor job just cause a men his career and maybe his life. boxing is no joke and we should have cualified people on the job.

He's a been a joke!! I can't stand Khan but the way he handle Khan-Peterson was horrible. And yesterday he was at it again. Williams tried to take colons block off with that punch. That **** should have been a dq. Now fighters can just hit u with a haymaker to the back of your head and say it was by mistake. And gain from the benefits and win the fight. Smh

I watched it and thought you did too. I'm not a lawyer, but even the commentator called the DQ for stalling correct, not knowing the damage. The fight got out of hand, blame the ref if you want, but that would be for incompetence, not malice.
