  • I thought this was one of GGG best fights so far. More measured than usual but looked completely in control of this fight from the start. As the competition steps up, GGG goes into another gear. I think Cotto & Alvarez will be genuinely more concerned than ever before after this bout. And to those GGG haters out there. **** off and take that for a result. More to come so get used to it!

    • I got to wait and see how canelo cotto plays out but GGG is a star hopefully the PPV numbers look good and the winner of Canelo cotto fights him. Sky's the limit for GGG just worried that he looked too good and that jab shows he has multiple layers to beat you and that will scare more fighters away from wanting to fight him at 160.

Yup. But the difference between what the mouth breathers refer to as "boring" when speaking of Mayweather, and boring with regards to this fight is simple:

Mayweather made a fight boring because he created awkward space between himself and his shot, green, or untalented opponents. He slowed the fights down to 1-2 punch exchanges, with long lulls between action spots.

GGG boxed smart, but threw over 530 punches in 9 rounds, and mixed in a lot of power combos. Oh, and his punches actually hurt the opponent.

One is boring, the other is exciting. Morons want a haymaker fest, or the bull**** labeled "fighting" from MMA.

        • Agree with MrP4P too. . . I do prefer the methodical approach to boxing, and GGG displayed that tonight. Footwork was on point, jab kept DL at range, and he basically neutralized him. It wasn't "Mexican Style" here. GGG, can punch too so there's still always that "He could end it at any point"

Good win for GGG, Lemieux was out of his depth from the opening bell, I'd like to see GGG move up because I'd think he'd have more competitive fights there. Not because I want him to lose, I've been a fan for a while and support him whenever he fights, but I'd like to see him move up because I don't think there's anyone that beats him at 160 and below.

Ofcourse if he wants to unify first, then that's fine. I don't see Cotto or Canelo going for it though. Maybe Canelo (if Oscar allows it) lol

          • It's hard to see anybody beating GGG at MW, he'll reign for a long time.

And there's absolutely nothing wrong with that.
