the ref stopped this too early, david was still fighting back probably not at your liking but he is fighting back.
It's called business baby...GGG is HBO's asset. All of this sheet is staged (in a sense). Meaning orchestrated to tell a story of the "Big Bad Wolf" from Khasakstan who has the highest ko% in history of boxing...smh foh. But the point is Lamply told you wut was at stake for the network. Pac & May are dunzo & the show must go on. They're banking (forcing) on a ggg having the kind of crossover appeal that pac had as a foreigner & translating into giant ppv revenue. The ref is an agent of the networks & commission kinda like the cops are the agents of the local gov. They troll for dollars. The ref has to do his part & ensure the tko vickie. Afterall wtf is going to risk their asset against a guy w/ a punchers chance. you just eliminate that poss altogether by stopping the ****. & allowing the show to go on.....simple as that folks. It's a new day.

And HBO on a boner translating range control as the best Middleweight stats have to have offer yet Lampley is always *****ing about fighters not fighting. There you go. HBO garbage as usual. Wait till thnoe post conference.
The list of fighters who have been disqualified for that same punch is long and Roy is one of them. Super dirty punch and the ref let it happen and stopped the fight too early. Not a good look and put a bad taste in my mouth. At least take a point away and then there is no controversy.

I've been at most a GGG sympathizer in the past but also a heavy skeptic, wondering if he really belonged that high on P4P lists and whatnot.

That was amazing. His jab is the most accurate I've ever seen. He completely neutralized one of the most aggressive fighters in the world by slapping him on the snout at will.

GGG totally neutralized Lemieux. Dude had to respect GGG's power/jab and couldn't go as aggressive as he wanted. As a result, GGG's slight better reach and superior jab did work.

Lemieux was not on his knee when GGG threw the punch. He was dropping down but even then it's an honest mistake.

I don't see anyone giving triple G a good fight... That guy is just a goddamn beast
The best match up would be Andre ward.

No idea why this was PPV or Lemiux was sacrificed so soon.

When GGG beats Cotto or Canelo, I still don't think we will know much about him. He is clearly better than everyone at 160. But not sure how great he is unless a real challenge comes along or he chases it.
I think, with his popularity, they wanted to strike while the iron was hot and get some ppv money from Golovkin. Lemieux was just who was available and they knew they could sell the "power" angle. As the clever folks predicted, it was a mismatch.

There are some blatant haters on here but some of us said this was a blatant mismatch like Mayweather-Berto but the GGG fans said the fight will be exciting to justify the PPV tag but it really wasn't to be honest. If you weren't in love with Golovkin then the fight was fairly uneventful and nothing more than a showcase for GGG.

If it was a PBC card we'd get more honesty.

That's the thing with these forums, most people are just fan boys and have double standards.
