In Ward's own words 3 years ago Sergio Martinez was too small but now somehow Golovkin isn't...

I deleted my post bruh I was wrong lmao.

I don't agree with GGG saying he will fight Ward at 164 though, its some BS.

Did Martinez say he wanted to fight Ward and try to make fights against other 168 fighters?

I like this IBF weigh in process much more...I think it should be the standard. Would force a lot fighter to fight at the divisions they actually belong. I do believe a lot of dudes at 135, 140, 147 struggle like all hell to make the weight but don't move up because they wouldn't have the same advantages in those divisions and won't move up until they can't cut the weight even with the hardest of efforts.

Here we go, did Golovkin negotiate with those people? Did he say he wouldn't ask for the same meet me half way with them? NO. He said he would fight them and it ended there, none of them took him up on his offer. So please stop using that excuse, we don't know what those negotiations would've entailed because they never took place. HBO did sit Ward down to discuss the fight once, we do not know the particulars of that discussion either. Filling in blanks without facts is reaching...

From the info I've read on both fighters weighin and fight nite weights I'd guess GGG to be at 170-72 and Lemieux to be at 175lbs.
With 34 to 38 hours to utilize a fighter can rehydrate up to 12 pounds comfotablly. I think their best sparring was at 168-72 and then the rest of the 8 days left would be to shed the 8 to 11 lbs. to make weight.
Thats how its done boys! Spar at full strength then concentrate at the weighin date, don't do both at the same time. Thats how you get weak.
