I don't think I'm as high on Kovalev as most, but I think Fonfara is just too easy to hit. I think he'd give him some problems, but I think Kovalev stops in about 6-7 rounds.
Fonfara is five inches longer than Kovalev, at least two inches taller than Kovalev, takes a massive shot well, stays active, and doesn't seem to have quit in him.
How does Kovalev react when, come the 7th or 8th round of a hypothetical fight, Fonfara (the bigger man) is still coming forward, pumping out his shots, keeping his pace pushed? Kovalev would be walking into a situation that he'd never faced as a professional, with all the chips on the line, against a real one.
I don't think Kovalev has the fortitude to make it.

Hey I'm sure he's terrified after that brutal destruction of undefeated champ in his hometown. Wait, that's Kovalev Cleverly. Fonfara fought a washed up version in his hometown and lost 4-5 rounds and got hit like 400 times
I see Kovalev having to go several rounds but in the end, his power and accuracy will be too much. If Fonfara got in some good shots and made it close for a while though, I would not be surprised. I think he would just be outgunned in the long run.
Fonfara is very good. Kovalev knocks out very good boxers very quickly. If Stevenson can knock Fonfara down and beat him by a large amount Then Kovalev would knock Fanfara out.
