Cleverly redeemed himself from the miserable showing against Bellew and the battering by Kovalev. He deserves another fight with a lightheavy contender. I'd have no problem with a Fonfara rematch either.

I think he gives anyone other than Kovalev a tough fight. Fonfara eats jabs too much. Kovalev has a good jab that hurts his opponents.

Fonfara is longer and punches straighter. His technical ability would give even a guy like Kovalev problems.

lol yea ok. fonfara no defense. i think that would give fonfara a problem. technical ability? kovalev is ten times the boxer of fonfara. he outboxed pascal and hopkins easily. cleverly easily. campillo easily. fonfara lost 5 roudns to campillo, lost 4 to doodoo ngoubo. he just lost 4-5 to cleverly. where exactly would the problem be for kovalev? that fonfara is too easy to hit and he won't get enough rounds in?

Good fight.. Both guys really came to win..

Cleverly is very talented, but lack of ring generalship really sets him back vs top level guys..
He reminds me of Calzaghe with the high punch volume, but doesn't possess nearly the tactical smarts that Calzaghe had, calzaghe would have a pretty easy time with a guy like fonfara

That was a hell of a fight. Cleverly has a lot of heart fighting on with a battered nose.

I hope PBC can deliver more matchups like these two fights tonight.

You guys hate triangle theories except when you use them in your favor. I keep forgetting Kovalev is like God on this site. If you can't see it then you can't see it. I agree with you on Fonfaras defense but the man walks through every bodies punches. Even when Stevenson was beasting him early he was still making Stevenson work.
