If he really fights Kovalev that would be impressive, win lose or draw. If he fights another guy like Smith he would be looking like a shot picker. I too am waiting to hear who he is fighting next. As good as he is and as long as he has been around I can't see any reason for him to fight any boxer not in or near the top 10.

They could do it a week before the card, he's not the main focal point so it won't be a huge hit to the card or anything

Ward wants to be co-main event and share in the PPV money. Neither of those are realistic demands at this point. That being the case, I would not expect to see Ward on the undercard of the Cotto PPV unless he is in one of the pre-PPV 'dark' matches that are not included in the broadcast. That would be such an embarrassment that I do not think Ward would accept. It would be suitable to whoever he would likely want as his opponent, however.

I'm very curious as well. Most good fighters wont accept a fight at a week's notice, so the longer he doesn't know his opponent, the more of chance it will be a joke of a fight.

Andre Ward is fighting for some attention i think, but he himself is such a flat boring character that he has to send hoax offers, spread lies and use other peoples names to get any.
