My money is on Warrington. Selby couldn't keep Fernando off without suffering. They should have stopped it when Selby suffered that horrible cut.

First fight in the States, Selby wasn't at his best. Montiel proved a handful and Selby looked tight, perhaps too caught up in in his US TV debut. Still, good experience, but he needs to be better than that if he wants to fight LSC.

Selby is trash, nothing special, montiel isn't even a featherweight and went the distance, montiel has no power here,is old and slow, and still took the so called champ the distance, any of the champs at 126 beats selby

This is a perfect example of why I hate when people try to gauge fighters in a division and automatically start with the beltholders. Just because an opponent has a belt doesn't automatically make him better than the ones who don't. A lot of times, the guys with the belts just have more money/backing which they use to get numerous title shots with extra advantages such as getting the champion to travel and biased scorecards. People need to see the big picture in a division and ignore trinket alphabet titles when doing comparisons like these.

According to the article, selby "landed a ****" that apparently cut selby's eye. Wish I could've seen that.

I'm just glad SOME people see this. It's frustrating when some guy wins a vacant title, or uses home town advantages and acts like a Prima Donna. What is Selby's forte? What tool or skill? A friendly ref is not a skill.

Nothing like making a snap judgement? Selby didn't look good tonight but he looked great in his last fight. Could be that Montiel is still a live dog at this weight and at his age? Montiel has 3 times as much experience as Selby but has a diminished physical abilities - maybe th eexperience made up for lack of physical prowess? Could be that Selby was a little tense this time out? Why not make a judgement over the next 2-3 fights?
All that said I saw Selby winning 8 rounds - he got it done.

Damn! Thats a lot of excuses in one post.
                    Defensive much?
Stop making excuses. You should be disappointed and want Selby to prove himself and not make excuses for when he looks like ****e.
Maybe he looked good because he cherrypicked by far the weakest beltholder in the division?
And no, Montiel isn't on some hellbent comeback streak.
Put someone worth a damn in against him, he won't see the bell.

Almost looked like Montiel was going to score a knockdown earlier in that fight
