Comments Thread For: Danny Green To Face Konrad on 12/2, Wants Mundine

Veteran boxer Danny Green (34-5, 28KOs) is to fight Germany's Konni Konrad (22-2-1, 11KOs) in December but his eye is still firmly on arch rival Anthony Mundine.

Green made a successful return to the ring after snapping a near three year layoff by picking up a win over Argentine Roberto Bolonti in August.

He announced on Thurday he will face Konrad - who last month lost to WBA "regular" light heavyweight world champion Juergen Braehmer - in Melbourne on December 2.

Oh yeah Danny Green baby! Such a warrior, 4 time, 4 time, 4 time, 4 time world champion! I got to see him in August and it was an honour. Hopefully I get to see his next fight, Mundine stop running, man up!

Would love to see Green KO mundine into retirement! Mundine is an embarrassment to our country with his Islamic, indigenous bull****. He is the ultimate pity me person!

Green had his chance back in 2007 after he beat Drews in his farewell fight, the stage was set for Mundine v Green for the WBA lightheavy belt, but Green retired in fear , returning 18 months later as a cruiserweight fighting for the IBO at catchweight. Now he's back and still fighting light heavies outside the top 100 at 190lb using Mundine's name to sell tickets. He needs to show he's serious and drop down to 175, and tell us what he plans to do different because he got flogged the first time.

In order to get the fight against Drews (it was a voluntary defense), Green signed a co-promotional contract with Klaus-Peter Kohl (Universum Box Promotion), Drews' promoter.
This gave Kohl the right to determine Green's opponents for the following year.
Kohl planned a title unification between Erdei and Green.

But Green retired, as he wanted to be world champion but didn't want to be controlled by Kohl for the next year.
Drews retired too ... because he didn't like boxing much and just fought for the money (he did enough money with fighting Green in Australia).
