Comments Thread For: Julian Williams to Trout: Stop acting like a superstar, fight!

On September 22nd, super welterweight contender Julian Williams improved to 21-0-1 with a first round knockout of the normally durable Luciano Cuello. Williams hurt the Argentine early and didn't let up, forcing the referee to stop the fight.

"I think it was a good performance. It was only 90 seconds so I wasn't able to see what type of shape he was is in or anything else. I feel I shocked him real early. I was able to hit him with a few shots and get him out of there," Williams explained.

      He's wrong. There is nothing wrong with calling out/hassling so-called superstars - sometimes it'll work - frinstanz - Lara-Canelo.

I kinda understand his argument, but didn't Trout beat Cotto a couple yrs ago? He wasn't exactly dominated by Canelo either. The point being, he's still on those superstars level. So yeah J , u might be able to give a good fight, but if Trout looks to fight someone else with more of a name u can't blame him

He got beat by Lara and Canelo though. Hes not a big star financially either.

On top of that Trout has had some choice words to say about Williams recently and now he doesnt want to back it up in the ring?

If Trout can get a better more lucrative fight then fair play, but there arent that many money guys at 154 (assuming Canelo and Cotto arent heading back down).

True, there aren't many big money fights at 154, but I bet there's plenty other guys out there that would get him more money than fighting Williams (Charlo, Andrade, Martirosyan, Kirkland, etc...) But, if he did decide to talk sh__ with em on twitter or whatever then he should be backin it up. Otherwise he should've kept his mouth shut

Beating Cotto could have been the start for Trout but back to back loses and knockdowns in both fights stemmed that momentum as well as him taking tune up fights in which he won those but not really in an impressive manner

Yeah but Trout hasn't looked too impressive and he even got shutout against Lara.
