Had Golovkin sticked with his 168 stance, Ward would have demanded that he takes 3 tuneup fights first. And these 3G haters would have found an easy excuse for it.

Do you even want the fight to happen or not? Or you're just content in making 3G look bad in forums? Why not pressure them both, not just 3G?

You say GGG is ducking. Are you sure Ward is not?

Show me one single time where Ward made a concrete effort to make the fight happen. Did he instruct Roc to start the negotiating ball rolling? When? When was real negotiations happen on both sides?

That's the thing. You guys are getting so emotional over this but nobody is saying that he ducked Ward. It's not possible to duck a guy in a division that you don't fight at.

The issue is that he called out Ward, thinking he wouldn't say anything because he was tied up in legal drama, but Ward called his bluff and now they are changing tune. The OP documented this whole process with quotes from the relevant people.

You guys are all posting speculation based on one side of the story.

When they 'called out anyone 154-168' Ward wasn't anywhere near the top of their list. They've been extremely consistent in what they want - MW division champs and if that's not possible then popular fighters. Ward was included in that comment because he fought at 168. Now 3 years later when Ward decides that he needs money and can't make any fighting Paul Smiths, all the Ward fanboys think that the 154-168 comment was made yesterday and was only about Ward.

By the way - you're also wrong regarding the callout being a bluff. In two separate articles GGG said that Ward's team turned him down on HBO 3 times. Ward's little "I have the email right here" stunt came after Lemieux was already announced - and he never denied the timing of that NOR offered to show the details in that email.

If you want to talk about bluffing and ducking, look at Ward. Inactive, unpopular fighter who's unwilling to come down 4 pounds to appear on PPV and instead keeps talking about another fighter to keep his name in the news.

Max Kellerman:" If Andre Ward beats Chad Dawson, you'd fight him?"

Golovkin:" Yes!!!!! Why not? Andre Ward is a good man, and I beat Andre Dirrel (amateurs). I'm ready now!"

Neither of us are right or wrong. This is just mere speculation coming out of the mouth of the fighter that you like better with your own biased twist.

Which is why he called his bluff. He said in that video, I will fight Ward in a line of questioning about anyone from 154-168. Now all of the sudden its "154 to 168 but if your not a PPV star then 160 only"

If you want to rag on GGG and his team, fine, understandable.

The reality is Golovkin-Ward is a long way from coming. Ward wants tune ups. And the fighter that Ward is, he should be looking up, not down.

Everyone constantly belittles GGG but then it takes the former #2 P4P for them to be confident in him losing a fight.

I don't think he ever backtrack. You are clearly a Ward fan. Why is Ward so obsessed with fighting a much smaller man at his weigh of 168? GGG is too busy fighting middleweight champions for more money than he could ever get for fighting the fan unfriendly Ward. Ward should start fighting top ten rated boxers at whatever weight division he is going to fight at. GGG wins by KO every time while Ward wins by ugly, mauling, head butting, holding and hitting decisions.

It's literally always been only moving for a big name and big money. Did you seriously think the plan was to be actively fighting in 3 weightclasses? No.
