Comments Thread For: Wach Fighting Alexander Povetkin Practically "For Free"

Polish heavyweight giant Mariusz Wach (31-1, 17 KOs) is not making a lot of money on November 4 when he steps in in the ring in Kazan for a big showdown with Olympic gold medal winner Alexander Povetkin (29-1, 21 KOs).

I feel bad for the big man!

Maybe he's a new and improved fighter, if he walks through Povetkin with ease we might be seeing a new heavyweight champion

And yet it is allowed to happen! Ridiculous, this is a fight for No.1 ranking and he fights for free?! Disgrace!

It sucks but it's fair game for me. In other words, he's buying himself out of a contract.

It'd literally be if he fought and got his purse, but then wanted to be a FA and had to buy out his contract to do so. Fighters do it all the time.
