Sucks for Wach, hopefully he can do well enough that he earns something in the future off this fight.

not necessarily. This is just his side of the story. We need the promoters and his manager side.

Remember this guy got busted for PEDs and was out of the ring over a year. What did he survive on? Did his promoter give him advances? If so he got plenty of this purse in advance and hardly is fighting for free. A lot of fighters take advances and aren't very good with money. They cry about their promoters stealing from them but forget to mention the hundreds of thousands in advanced they take.

We need more info before we can really make a conclusion.

Hopefully Wach puts up a good performance against Povetkin & earns some nice paydays in the future.

Jimmy Birchfield sounds like a real gentlemen. Afterall, Wach is saying he gets to keep 10% of the money. Lol, lots of scumbag leeches in boxing. It's Wach's fault, he picked his promoter. Boxer's should do their due diligence before signing

Not gonna argue with that, but I think Raonic made a good point yesterday.....

to do so. Fighters do it all the time.
It sounds like Wach had the option to buy out his contract, just like any other fighter, but likely had no money on hand. The buyout will likely offset his earnings.
