On one hand I think that GGG is being short-changed, on the other hand I dont.

The " he only fights bums doe " guys, are being too hard on Gennady..... but the " avoided killer who will fight anyone doe " guys, need to give themselves an uppercut.

As usual, the truth lies somewhere in the middle.

Golovkin is not only fighting everyone they put in front of him, he is blowing them out of the ring..... I can see him beating every relevant ranked opponent, except for maybe 1 or 2 lower-tier guys.

My issue is, those 1 or 2 lower-tier guys have the style to give him problems..... and yet not only will they not be considered as an opponent, they wont be considered as a duck either, because Gennady will have beaten guys who are ranked higher and are much more relevant at 160.

It is about styles, and Team Golovkin are very capable/knowledgable.

I will leave the Ward thing, it has been done to death already.

Gennady did not duck Ward, because Ward fights at 168.

But Golovkin MOST DEFINITELY did avoid Ward, no question.

Golovkin is a fkn beast, he is the best middleweight on the planet and will likely beat most/all relevant contenders...... but he is not reaching for greatness, lets keep it real..... especially if he refuses to consider a catchweight for the Cotto/Canelo winner knowing that they will be stripped.

If that happens, Golovkin will have walked away from a huge payday and potentially his best win to fight a lesser opponent for a vacant title.

Yeah that's the thing. I can't speak for others but I think GGG is an excellent fighter. I do believe he has some fairly glaring flaws but I don't see anyone in his weight class that I'm convinced can expose them and win.

I understand why he wants Cotto or Canelo though, any man should. Pick up a big win and the accompanying check. No one will bash him on the boards if he ends up fighting the winner. But they damn sure will if he keeps putting fights like this on PPV while his fans drool.

What's the difference between GGG upcoming PPV and Mayweathers PPV against Gatti, Baldomir, Guerrero, Ortiz, Maidana, JMM, and Berto to name a few

Yea, the reasons for not selecting Mora and Lara stunk lmao.

I dont see anybody else beating Golovkin, and I'm not sure those guys could beat him either to be honest.....

But I wanna see him fight guys like that for the same reason you do.

With the exceptions of Maidana and JMM, I would say power. Lemieux can really hit which always provides drama. Gatti was washed up. Baldomir could not crack an egg. Guerrero could not either. Ortiz was a quitter. Berto was washed up, too. Mosley had power. That was worth it and you saw what happened. A little bit of drama at least.

One of them fought elite fighters, paid those dues and commanded a large PPV audience on PPV.
