He would also match up well with Miguel Cotto, although Cotto could conceivably try to box Hatton from the outside. I don't think that Hatton matches up well at all with the taller, faster Mayweather who also has a 7" reach advantage on Hatton. Of course Hatton's pride would not allow him to duck Mayweather, but I think that his career would look better if he never fought him.
I don't agree. It would be better for him to have a tough loss to Floyd than to ride off into the sunset undefeated but without having faced the best.Comment

This fight belongs to Cotto, not Hatton!Originally posted by JuicyJuiceJust seen Hatton on the news, here's what he said..
He said he doesn't like to blow his own horn or anything but that people should remember that HE is the undisputed king at 140lbs, not Cotto or Mayweather.
He said he purely followed Mayweather (upto 147).
Once he gets Collazo out of the way, he wants to fight the winner of Castillo/Corrales III in his next fight (possibly at MSG) back at 140 and then onto Cotto and/or Mayweather. He says he has four fights left in him, and will be retired by 2008.
At 147, he says he'll be even more explosive because he's able to have more carbs in his pre-fight diet to fuel his muscles.
He then added that he'd be "absolutely livid" if he didn't get to fight Mayweather.Comment

4 fights and he's done? How old is Hatton? He's won ONE big fight and he's talking retirement? C'mon, Ricky, the world has just recognized you. Take advantage and fight any 3 of these names: Gatti, Mayweather, Margarito, Corrales, Castillo, Cotto, etcComment

Agree, with the exception of Gatti, he doesnt prove anything by beating Gatti. I would replace Gatti with Joel JulioOriginally posted by DiegoFuego4 fights and he's done? How old is Hatton? In all honesty Ricky is pretty much already past his best, he's taken a tonne of punches 40 times in eight years (and is 28 this year!). His style means that he take risks, and his out-of-the-ring habits means that his body will sooner or later hit breakdown. He's already had his career-defining fight, and after that he has nothing left to prove to anyone anymore. Now, he's just living the American dream while he can.
And Ricky wants to fight Mayweather no matter what, win or lose, it doesn't matter to him as long as he gives the fans what they want and makes it exciting. Ofcourse, he'll be trying to win. But even if he gets destroyed by Mayweather, atleast he's given the fans a good fight and given it his best shot - that's his mindset.Comment

Word-- He's making a big mistake if he's looking for PBF already---Originally posted by borikuaHe better focus on Collazo now...Comment
