Just seen Hatton on the news, here's what he said..

He said he doesn't like to blow his own horn or anything but that people should remember that HE is the undisputed king at 140lbs, not Cotto or Mayweather.

He said he purely followed Mayweather (upto 147).

Once he gets Collazo out of the way, he wants to fight the winner of Castillo/Corrales III in his next fight (possibly at MSG) back at 140 and then onto Cotto and/or Mayweather. He says he has four fights left in him, and will be retired by 2008.

At 147, he says he'll be even more explosive because he's able to have more carbs in his pre-fight diet to fuel his muscles.

He then added that he'd be "absolutely livid" if he didn't get to fight Mayweather.

its no ones fault but hattons if he doesnt fight floyd. pbf wants the fight now, and hatton is fighting a b level opponent and then floowing it up by facing a natural 130/135 fighter...

hatton vs the winner of castillo/corrales sounds quite intriguing. however, hatton vs pbf also sounds like it could be an interesting fight.

i also agree with ricky that he is currently #1. he did beat tszyu(however dirty he fought), so he beat the man. thus making him the man at 140, at least in my book. at 147, that obviously is a different weight class and a whole 'nother book.

yeah, he better stay focused on collazo. i don't know much about collazo except that he has a strap and a 26-1 record. i gotta check through my collection to see if have some of his work.

EXACTLY thats what I've been saying for quite some time now!!!!! If Hatton has already beaten the best in Tzu why has he been taking so long to fight another elite? Maussa, Collazo then 2 more fights before he thinks himself ready for PBF, WTF? Is he hoping that the statistaclly higher rate of degenerate heart disease in Black Males kicks in within these next few years he takes to "BE READY"?

Hatton isnt fighting Castillo or Corrales...

Corrales is comfy at 135 and Castillo is already getting up and looking ahead to Cotto at 140....

Chances are the 140 pound fight between Cotto/Castillo will move on to fight Witter vs Corley winner....

In any case of Hatton chasing Mayweather. Hatton will mingle at 147 and then Mayweather will get the DLH fight and then Hatton will claim that Mayweather didnt want the fight and opted to fight a faded ODLH and he is moving back down to 140....Hatton vs Mayweather couldnt even possibly happen until early/mid 2007.

Hatton's a very shrewd fighter if he intends to fight the winner of Corrales-Castillo at 140 or 142 lbs. Hatton matches up well against either of those 2 sluggers, who won't force Hatton to track them down. He would also match up well with Miguel Cotto, although Cotto could conceivably try to box Hatton from the outside. I don't think that Hatton matches up well at all with the taller, faster Mayweather who also has a 7" reach advantage on Hatton. Of course Hatton's pride would not allow him to duck Mayweather, but I think that his career would look better if he never fought him.

floyd had been fighting B level opposition also......judah was beaten by baldomir, gatti is good but not A level....floyd's last top opponent was castillo.....

Floyd has to fight a Hatton or perhaps a Mosley....even DLH is not an A fighter anymore, but a semi-retired give me money I fight fighter!

Ahhahahahah.

Yeah right, that's why Floyd moved up to avoid Hatton, and why Hatton's moving up after him to challenge technically "the man" at that weight, thereby ultimately forcing Floyd to face him.

Hatton has a similar style to Castillo who gave Floyd fits in their first fight. And Hatton does everything, EVERYTHING, better than Castillo.
