Comments Thread For: Wilder on Povetkin: I Won't Sit Around, I'm The Champ!

WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder (35-0, 34KOs) says there is no way that he plans to sit on the bench, while waiting around for mandatory challenger Alexander Povetkin (29-1, 21KOs) to be ready and available to face him.

Povetkin is back on November 4th when he fights Mariusz Wach in Kazan. Wilder wants to fight in December or January, which may create a scheduling issue for Povetkin with such as short time span.

povetkin isnt as confident as the ppl that speak on these sites for him...he asked the wbc to let him fight wach as a tune up to wilder...but i thought u all said povektin would ko this kid tomorrow?

fact is this povetkins has beeing throwing catch and shoot short shots..that is not possible with wilder..if it was stivern would have landed his..they missed my miles..povetkin wont be able to cut the ring and will get beat up bad imo..

BUT THE CHAMP HAS SPOKE AND HE IS FREAKING RIGHT...DONT WAIT ON HIM STAY ACTIVE..

BUT WHEN HE'S READY NO EXCUSES, unlike the ggg fans, got beat his arse

Povetkin will be ready to spank Wilder in Jan or Feb if there´s no injury. Wilder is just trying to buy time.

Wilder talks like he's going to fight a top 5 WBC contender next and as if his last fight wasn't part of the reason Povetkin scheduled for a November fight.

no povetkin actually brought it for him by begging the wbc to let him fight wach in russia first...he had no reason to do that he knows he could get wilder in december..he's scared

If Povetkin sparks out Wach, I'm pretty sure we'll Wilder vs. Klitschko next.

In order for that to be true, Povetkin would be going back into training damn near immediately after fighting Wach, which isn't gonna happen. That time period also doesn't include negotiations (which would more than likely fall apart and require a purse bid anyway).

Dislike Wilder all you like, but don't tell outright lies.

The organisation need to force the fight, if not people are going to be taking tune ups after tune ups, the only reason povetkin is taking a tune up is because Wilder is taking another tune up when he was suppose to be defending his belt against Povektin.
