Daniel Jacobs knows most media and fans figure Gennady Golovkin will tear through David Lemieux, but the WBA middleweight title-holder doesn’t think this will be an easy fight for the undefeated Kazakh knockout artist.
In fact, Jacobs wouldn’t be surprised if Lemieux pulls off an upset when they fight for Golovkin’s interim WBC and WBA (super) middleweight titles and Lemieux’s IBF championship Oct. 17 at Madison Square Garden (HBO Pay-Per-View). Golovkin (33-0, 30 KOs) has won 20 straight fights by knockout and is a 16-1 favorite over Montreal’s Lemieux (34-2, 31 KOs).
