Comments Thread For: Daniel Jacobs Considers Golovkin-Lemieux "‘A Toss-Up"

Daniel Jacobs knows most media and fans figure Gennady Golovkin will tear through David Lemieux, but the WBA middleweight title-holder doesn’t think this will be an easy fight for the undefeated Kazakh knockout artist.

In fact, Jacobs wouldn’t be surprised if Lemieux pulls off an upset when they fight for Golovkin’s interim WBC and WBA (super) middleweight titles and Lemieux’s IBF championship Oct. 17 at Madison Square Garden (HBO Pay-Per-View). Golovkin (33-0, 30 KOs) has won 20 straight fights by knockout and is a 16-1 favorite over Montreal’s Lemieux (34-2, 31 KOs).

Nice of Jacobs to sell this as a more competitive fight even though he's under a enemy regime. Personally I don't see how one could see this as anything other than a fight heavily favored towards GGG with Lemieux having a KO chance due to his power & GGG's lacking defense, but whatever.

I think its a 60-40 fight. I dont see why people are so quick to say lemiuex is just there to get knocked out. i think he's pretty good. Definitely better than most some other guys on GGG's good boy list

          Indeed.

No bitterness, no boasting, no name calling, just an honest opinion. But I guess when you've been what he's been through it makes you bigger than all that trivial stuff.
