Most big name guys or guys who capture fans imagination have some ******ed fan. Thats par for the course.

I'd say he's more like the new Manny. Manny & GGG are both fun to watch. They both can KTFO of people (Manny in his prime anyway, he's slowed down a lot lately as boxers tend to do). They both are foreign to the US yet due to their good guy personality have won over US fans when few foreign cats are capable of doing that. Looking forward to GGG singing on the Kimmel show soon.

Okay I see, if you mean personality, I can see that. I thought you meant like GGG is beating up bigger men than he is and taking risks like Pac did. Cause when people start putting GGG and Pac in the same sentence, then I gotta ask where is Golovkin's Marco Antonio Barrera-esque win? You know, a guy who was favored to win, deemed as higher skilled, higher weight class, Ring champ of that weight class, bigger, that Golovkin went and upset by KO. Where is that guy on his resume? But yeah, personality wise, I see where you're going.

There's absolutely no comparison, GGG doesn't half 1/10000th of the haters Floyd Mayweather had, GGG however have critics, not haters, there's a difference.

I‘ve been critical of his level of opposition and of the unnecessary back and forth talks about other fighter not wanting to fight him and all that BS, you know if GGG was young, I would probably understand what he's doing but the dude is already 33 years old with no wins against any reigning champions and with 1 win against 1 former champion, yet he's recieving a lot of praise and hype from the media whereas there are other fighters out there who accomplished much more in less time and they don't get the same kind of praise.

Hate and criticisim are not the same, Floyd was and still is hated by a lot of people, GGG gets criticized by some people, and if his damn trainer would actually shut his mouth for a minute much fewer people will criticize GGG.

Some fair points, but it's difficult when other champs know they got no shot against the guy. So he better bring PPV level money, and unexpectedly he's made that happen. For example, he's getting his first unification shot next week.

                  Not really.

Even at the age of 38, with 20 years of wear on his body, Floyd Mayweather is still the prohibitive favorite against every fighter 160lbs on down, and the prohibitive favorite against a lot of super middleweights as well (regardless of whether the actual fight makes sense)

Golovkin can't even journey up one weight class without his camp being utterly shook.

that's just flat out disrespectful. There are major personality distinctions that outweigh any and all fan attitudes. GGG isn't a hater. One guys says he does it for the fans, the other outright says he doesn't.

One interesting thing tho, Floyd can often speak aggressively and make threatening promises as if he fights like Golovkin, and Gennady is so often soft spoken that one could mistakenly assume he fights at a relatively safe and easy pace.

Excellent thread! Even Gennady haters admit he is on the throne and the best fighter in boxing. Thats when you know you have made it. LMAO!!! I am loving this man. We are on top, its been 3 long years and now Gennady is considered the greatest fighter of all time even by those who dislike him. Next Saturday, we will witness Gennady prove why he is the best fighter to ever live by facing the second most devastating puncher in the history of the sport.
