If Roman loses, does Andre Ward become p4p #1 fighter in the world?

that's not the point of p4p. yes he's won a lot of fights in a row but how has he won them? by clinching nonstop in almost every one. clinching is illegal. why would you say someone is the best fighter when they have to cheat? he's the exact opposite of p4p in reality. if he wasn't so tall and big he wouldn't be able to clinch as well and would be beaten easily. just like postol. postol is effective because he cheats and fights in a division where he's bigger than everyone else. so does wlad. how is that p4p?

Wlad is a gigantic heavyweight so I'm not even saying he needs to be p4p #1. He has cemented himself as a great heavyweight but some people have issue with those two distinctions overlapping.

I'm just trying to decode the seemingly completely random algorithm used in p4p rankings.

          - Floyd retires

          - Everyone on the list is shuffled 4 or 5 spots between fights even though with Floyd at the top, that wasn't really necessary and in theory everyone should have just moved up one spot

          - Unranked Ward reappears at #2, poised to become the greatest fighter in the world if Roman loses

          - What got him there: 9th round TKO Paul Smith who weighed in at cruiserweight and has lost 3 in a row, in Oakland

Ward at #1 will be utterly embarrassing. I doubt even the people who bought Ward's #2 slot foresaw the possible consequences of Roman losing.

If Mayweather reappears in two years and fights a good opponent where do we put him on the P4P list or do we even put him -- point is time is a little factor in the equation.

Nope. Ward shouldn't even be in the top 10 p4p until he faces a top dog in his division and proves he still has it. For all we know he's out of his prime, but we can't tell because he has fought no one of note in years.

All this is a joke. Wlad isn't even top 5 P4P.

They seriously have Rigo over Klitschko.

                    Is he currently active? Yes
Do I believe he's the best p4p talent right now? Yes
Did he defeat his opposition fairly easily? Yes
Did he pass the "eye test"? Yes
Would he be number 1 on my list? No

There's a guy by the name of Kov who's done better while Ward hasn 't been as active and moved ahead of him, IMO.

Forgive me for asking, but do p4p rankings start from three years ago to the present day? I don't quite get the question here. We've all seen Ward's talent against the high quality opposition. What does exactly 3 years ago have to do with p4p rankings again?

                      2 questions

                      1-who should be p4p #1

2-who is your favorite fighter of all time
