THIS illustrates EXACTLY why I hate what these people do. The people who run boxing usually are not the ones who love boxing and this is a prime example of it. No person who loves boxing would destroy the world championships like this.

Eubank will be allowed one more defense (to have a fight) but then be stripped for...not fighting??!!!!!!!!!!!!!????????

WBA clarifies double interim title situation
The winner of Saturday’s bout in Venezuela between Alfonso Blanco and Sergey Khomisky will be recognized as WBA interim middleweight champion, but not until October 25.

Current WBA interim champion Chris Eubank Jr. will be allowed one more defense before being stripped due to inactivity. The winner of Eubank’s October 24 defense against Tony Jeter will immediately be stripped, with the title going to the Blanco-Khomisky winner who must next defend by February 25, 2016.

All parties were informed of the situation.
The WBA must have gotten a payday from Al Haymon to knock Eubank off from being the next Mandatory of the Quillin/Jacobs winner. The winner now gets to face Sergey Khomitsky.

I can almost feel the WBA getting sued over this.

The WBO just admitted to somehow dropping Austin Trout from it's rankings due to an "oversight." He was off the list just long enough to be out of the way...so that Liam Smith vs John Thompson could be sanctioned as a title fight. The WBO then magically spotted their mistake (after Trout appealed) and put him back in the top 5.

The corruption with these organizations would be laughable if it wasn't so sad.

In the UFC, it's all about being the champion. That's it. In Boxing, you can have up to 5-6 guys claiming to be a champion per weight class. Smh that's ridiculous. I think that's one of the things that greatly benefits the UFC as a fight league. Boxing is really becoming a business.

how can you hate boxing today? clinching is seen as a great skill. the second the postol-matthysse fight was over everyone forgot how the guy had clinched nonstop the entire fight. every wlad fight, almost every ward fight, just doesn't matter to people. matters to people who want to be entertained or see fights that are fair but at least the hardcore's are happy.

Agree. Its surprising to me more "made men" like the Floyd's, Manny's, Miguel's & Canelo's among others who can sell fights without title belts don't take a more aggressive response towards the alphabet group & sanctioning fees. Although I would imagine they haggle on the sanctioning fees cuz I tend to not believe they got $12M in fees from Manny & Floyd, but who knows.

I'd like to see a cross section of influential promoters, managers, boxers, trainers & TV channels come to the conclusion all the alphabet groups are hurting the sport by devaluing what a "champion" is & create their own group & across the board don't talk about the current belts at all anymore. They'd all die out rather quickly (imo) as these groups have no power beyond what the people in the sport are allowing it to take.

I hate the alphabet boys as much as anybody, but whats wrong here? They are saying that Eubank is not allowed another BS defense. Who can disagree there?

Eubank isn't a world champion anyway, he's a paper champ.

When Postol stopped clinching and started fighting back properly he looked more than capable but yep once more I agree.
I don't want to watch 36 minutes of unnecessary hugging, clinching is apart of boxing but it shouldn't be your strategy to win a fight.
