I am just a regular poster on this forum, I don't want to convince anyone with my own opinions.
You know opinions are like ar.seholes, everyone has one.
I am not really a fan of Ward, there's a reason only few people like his style, I think with a good/different ref and no home advantages for Ward some of his fights would have looked a little different, he has skills and it would be a very tough fight for GGG, specially because Ward is the much bigger and taller man.
You need to stop with that 154-168 stuff though, that was said by K2 when GGG came to the US boxing scene a couple years ago to get a name. And during that time he would have faced ANYONE, it was nothing but the truth, but times do change! GGG has made it clear since almost 2 years that his focus is to become lineal AND unified MW champ and he wants to finally make some money out of his talent, he wants to have all the belts and he wants to give the fans exciting fights, and of course its a dream to fight on PPV.
Ideal dancepartners for exciting PPV fights are the likes of Lemieux and hopefully Canelo early next year. It's sadly not Ward.. and i have to say it's Ward's own fault. He was inactive too long and now he had the chance to be more active again and fight some good guys at 168, he decides to fight Paul Smith at 172 and then? Nothing so far. Most probably fight at 175... and yeah he sent an hoax offer to GGG after that fight with Lemieux was signed.
I try to understand you, but if Ward would still be a household name, an active exciting fighter (at 168) who fans want to see, we would be seeing GGG vs Ward next weekend, i am pretty sure about that.
