Comments Thread For: Roc Nation: GGG's Team Turned Down Ward in 36 Minutes

Over the last few weeks, a lot has been said and a lot has been written with respect to a potential fight between WBA/IBO middleweight champion Gennady "GGG" Golovkin (33-0, 30KOs) and WBA super middleweight king Andre Ward (28-0, 15KOs).

As the finishing touches were being made to Golovkin's October 17th unification with IBF champion David Lemieux - Ward's promoter, Roc Nation Sports Chief Operating Officer David Itskowitch, emailed an official offer to Golovkin's promoter, Tom Loeffler of K2 Promotions.

Why is team Ward still looking to bully a guy who is 2 divisions below him, when he should be facing the number one guy in his division?

In little g's dedense, he is banking on fighting the Cotto-Canelo winner after this fight. We can't blame him for waiting on that. He made himself look soft talking about a cw for Ward only and not Jr or Frochy.

It was 2 divisions when Golovkin was a 154 fighting at 160 out of sheer machismo, weighing 165 lbs 30 days out (Hell, that's welterweight nowadays)

              Now it's 3 divisions

Ward is banking on fighting the winner of Canelo-Cotto as well
