They caught Khan at the right time in his career because Roach decided to go away and train Pac in the Philippines so Khan literally trained himself for most of the Garcia camp.

The whole reason Khan fired Roach was because he wasn't even in the same country while Khan was training for the Garcia fight, he was 7200 miles away.

Critically, Khan was without a trainer for most of the training camp so the Garicas got lucky catching him at that time. I remember seeing sparring footage (while Roach was away) and Khan was throwing that same jab/uppercut combo in camp, which Garcia timed.

He was focusing on that combo so much that it became very predictable in the fight itself and even in sparring. His own sparring partners started timing it! I remember thinking that if he throws that combo in the actual fight the same way he's throwing it in sparring , he'll get in trouble - but Roach wasn't in the same country to spot the mistakes and correct them!

Firing Roach was definitely the right choice, he basically cost Khan that fight and now the scumbag trying to weight-drain Khan because he doesn't think Pac can beat a healthy Khan.

Since nobody wants to do it, here's a recent source saying Team Pacquiao is in neogitations with Khan... and.. Mayweather?

Idk why Khan wouldn't go to 143 if that was on the table for real. Is Khan too big for 143 now? The upside for Khan would be huge & he doesn't seem THAT locked into 147 with him only having 3 fights there now. Thats assuming this is legit. I don't see a reputable source mentioning this so who knows.

Roach doesn't want that fight, Roach is still pushing for the Marquez fight or a Bradley rematch.
Again assuming this is legit I don't see the issue. Manny is in position to call his shot & all the details that would go along with that shot. Khan can either yay or nay it.

And I have a hard time thinking Khan feels like he could beat Manny at 147, but loses at 143. Khan has had 31 of his 34 fights at 143 or under. Is he really stuck at 147?

Plus a fight with Manny would be HUGE for Khan & a W over Manny would define his career & give it some direction finally after being in limbo since Garcia KO'd him.

Yes he is too big for 143 to be at his best , when fighters struggle to make a weight for years then they move up a division and allow their body to grow into that division its extremely hard to go back down again without it hurting them a lot , the body fights really hard to hold onto the weight you allowed it to finally have .

Lots of people in here think its nothing a pound here or there , truth is at the top level of boxing its crucial and Manny has manipulated weight for his advantage more than any fighter in the history of the sport , even now he is trying to squeeze another CW on a fighter that he is supposed to have beaten up for years , Manny is such a manipulating con man .
