NEWSFLASH!!!!! Most casuals couldn't pick either guy out of a lineup.

The blunt reality is nobody outside of hardcore fight fans give a **** about Andre Ward. And likewise, outside of hardcore fight fans, nobody gives a **** about Gennady Golovkin. That event has a ceiling of about 400K PPV buys today. This time next year, it will have a ceiling of about 400K PPV buys. And as long as both remain unbeaten, it will have a ceiling of 400K PPV buys. Ward's relevancy is just the latest excuse Team GGG has for avoiding an inevitable ass whip'n that will bring an embarrassing end to the hype train.
So how did GGG (A Kazakh who barely speaks english) manage to sell out MSG then? Meanwhile Ward (An American gold medalists) cant sell out an inflatable circus tent in Oakland.

I cringe when I see so-called hardcore fans expressing obsession over a fight between 2 fighters in different weight classes. Is that what being a boxing fan all about now? You want P4P #2 fight a small guy who you yourself call an overhyped fighter? It's embarrassing. Where is the level playing field here? Tell me.

He said he's fought 3 nondecript opponents since the Super 6. Paul Smith, Edwin Rodriguez and Chad Dawson are all better comp than GGG has faced thus far.

No they're not. Smith was blown out by 2 prospects, doesn't have a decent win. Rodriguez is a fringe contender at best. And Dawson is useless at 168, probably loses to any contender there

Because hardcore fight fans like GGG more.

depends ont wat u call controversial...or better yet wat they hide and wat they decide to tell...
while he was winning they would tell u he's a coke head..only that he goes to the local bar and hangs with the regulars like a good guy

While Ward is being pigeon holed by HBO who is sick of his games, GGG

Is being pegged as the man who possibly takes over after Mayweather leaves.

Actually, anecdotally, I'm hearing GGG's name from people I know are not boxing fans.

It's strange, but the Apple commercial probably helps.

He speaks decent English for just learning.

                    But your right.

Not to mention, Wards fight was in his own state.

                    Pathetic!

He brought Dawson down to 168. And Smith was overweight and busted.

                    GGG is big dog status.

Ward is begging a man 20 pounds lighter than him for a fight, because if not, he has to face a guy his own size Kolalev.

And before you bring up Cotto/Canelo, let me handle that.

Cotto is smaller, but he is ring mag's top MW and the Lineal champ. GGG is the mandatory.

Canelo rehydrates higher than GGG. Canelo fights at 175, GGG at 170.

So if Canelo has the better resume, then why not call for him to fight Ward.

                    It's Hypocrisy. Period!

GGG has arrived, get ready to live with that fact.

lara is no name, but canelo could care less...it was about his status, his pride, and he knew he would make money too

i dont like the scores of that fight, but i do like the balls and heart he displayed by taking it....
i'm looking to give GGG that kind of credit, but he's hiding behind a promoter and deluded/upset fans
But Canelo wouldn't have said "Get me Lara instead of Cotto" which is basically what you are asking GGG to do now.

And Lara wasn't 12lbs heavier than Canelo, either.
