Am I the only one to like this fight? Murat gave Hopkins hell and Beterbiev didn't beat anyone dangerous either.

And once Kovalev vacates the belt after Beterbiev becomes mandatory (see no reason to think that Marat wins), you then have Beterbiev vs Rodriguez/Seals winner for the vacant IBF 175 belt (Fonfara/Cleverly winner vs Dominic Boesel could also put Kovalev in a position where he'd have to vacate the WBO belt as well)

There's a good chance Kovalev will vacate the IBF belt. But Fonfara and his team have made it clear that they're gunning for that Stevenson rematch. Even if they try and position themselves for a chance at Kovalevs title I strongly doubt that Haymon would try and overpay just so he can 'poach' a title for Fonfara.

No one is forcing Kovalev to vacate his belts. All his team needs to do is show up to a purse bid.

Gonzalez is the only guy I can think of at the moment. 12 fighters declined the fight for what ever reason, and it could have been Chilemba vs Beterbiev but he is going for Stevensons belt, and he will be on the card. I don't know what Main Events is doing with this guy, they are talking about Ward in 2016 and he is not fighting again this year because he is running out of options. Soon he will have some other PBC guys as his mandatory. Will he vacate those belts too?

Beterbiev is ranked in the top 3 for all of Kovalevs titles. He is already in position.

What??? Beterbiev went down the list from no. 3 to no. 13 and nobody was willing or able - how is that "trying to fight nobody"??

Almost everyone ahead of Murat on the rankings has a fight lined up. Either way, I'm not interested in the match-up. At least we know it won't go too many rounds though. Murat is probably getting wrecked in the first 6.

Beterbiev was calling out Kovalev for a while, saying he wants to beat him, blah blah bull **** - and what happens? Kovalev offers him quite a deal for 3 ****ing belts in their home of Russia.. Beterbiev didn't want it. Unbelievable really, he said he'd fight Kovalev soon let's just wait

No one made Kov sign a ****** ass contract with HBO, when being free would've allowed this fight for more money. Kovlev was offered Stevenson before the resign,but signed anyway. Mismanagement is to blame here moreso than any fighter.
