Roc Nation came into the boxing game at the worst time, exactly when Haymon's hostile takeover was beginning. They wanted to make a big splash and they signed Cotto and Ward. Cotto was a good choice, especially because of the prospects of a Canelo fight, but Ward was a horrible decision. Even if Ward goes on to have some big wins, he will never generate profits for them.

Roc Nation should be using their money to sign hot prospects and so far they haven't. Maybe next year after the Olympics they can get some big signings but it doesn't seem like they have their priorities straight. They had a mini-deal with fox sports 1 that Haymon took over and supposedly they did a 3 fight time buy with BET, but after the Ward disaster, it appears that they got out of that deal? I'm not sure of that, but I haven't heard anything else about the BET series.

It doesn't seem like Haymon will work with them and vice versa and it also appears that some of the other promotions have reservations about working with them (like Top Rank) because they tried to steal some fighters. I just don't see a bright future for them in boxing unless they build a couple stars from the ground up. But that is really hard to do right now that Haymon has time bought up on all of these networks.

So overall, Roc Nation has made some dumb decisions but they are also a victim of the current landscape.

same exact problem ward had with goosen. goosen would want him to fight good fighters like bute and stevenson and he would say no i want truax and sartison. hbo would be like "is he serious lol"

now he just has a different sucker in roc nation. paul smith? zac dunn? pretend to try and fight ggg when ggg just signed a fight and then lie about it? we know his game.
      "good fighter"

      "bute"

Ward should already have a HOF resume and be a top 100 ATG by now. But he doesn't want to fight ever and doesn't want to take the risks the fans want him too. He saw Floyd making all that money and got jelly lmao

Ward is so bitter about boxing it's ridiculous. He feels like everybody owes him something. Dude better realize you need to fight to be relevant.

how minutes a day does jay z devote to running rocnation? probably very little. others are doing all the day to day ****. he is preoccupied with all his music work, yet he is the owner of rocnation.

So jay z working very very part time as a promoter with no experience vs all of these full time promoters who have been doing it for 10-30 years. hes getting his ass kicked.
