This past Saturday night Postol registered an unexpected tenth round knockout of big favorite, Lucas Matthysse, at the StubHub Center in Carson, California.

Can Imam fight on HBO? He's with Don King, right? Does that mean he's not tied to Haymon?

Can you guys not read? Wilder didn't win a vacant title

The WBC did not specify when exactly that fight will be ordered or if Postol will be allowed to have voluntary defense beforehand. Per the WBC's own rules, usually when a fighter wins a vacant world title they then have to make two mandatory defenses - as was the case with Bermane Stiverne who was ordered to face Deontay Wilder and Bryant Jennings back to back.

                Thanks for the clarification.
EDIT: Just went to read the article and realized what you wrote was from there. The irony of that is too much.

I'm not gonna say anything yet. The article states the WBC hasn't officially said if he gets two mandatories or any voluntaries. I'm sure they'll rush him in with Imam but im just trying to give the wbc the benefit of the doubt.

Let's hope they make the fight ASAP. I'd love to see it. Postol isn't really a big attraction so there's no point in trying to build him up with pointless voluntary defenses. He's got a boring personality, and no charisma, but he's a very good boxer. So just use him as a drone to take out Imam.

Imam will be a tougher fight than Matthysse, but I'd still favor Postol. Imam is very flat footed.
