I think you're giving them the benefit of the doubt, most of them already have a winner in mind before the bell even rings.

Unfortunately he'll never get a fair chance to prove it.

Did you all forget that the fight was actually close and no one actually got dominated once you get the Haymon hate out of your system?

This is a classic case of the power puncher vs the jabber. I stay consistent and always feel that the guy who landed the more power punches wins the fight, UNLESS the jabber outpunches the power puncher in the majority of the rounds, which is not what happened at all. Both guys outlanded eachother on about 5 rounds each, with 2 rounds having identical landed punches, and I gave it to the power puncher. Jabs are important, but jabs alone will not win you the fight. Herrera was the superior jabber, Garcia landed more power punches. DSG won the fight close, but he won.

          150(Garcia) power punches vs 82(Herrera)
          54(G) jabs vs 139(H)

150 power punches vs 139 jabs? The judges liked the power punches, so did I. And It's not like Herrera outlanded Garcia in every round, it was in 5 rounds. DSG won close.

          I had it 7-5 Garcia.

Same exact bull**** with Canelo vs Trout/Lara. People say they got robbed, but you just don't win with jabs when the other guy is landing clean power punches to your head and body. You better have landed 1000 jabs if you're really trying to win based on a jab. I gave both of those fights to Canelo, and honestly, the Trout fight was not even close. I felt that Canelo defensively toyed with Trout, and offensively was the better man. Lara fight was close but clear, easy to score due to Lara's running.

I'm glad that judges don't award fights to fighters that just want to jab their way to victory.

Yeah it's a shame. Herrera should of had his time on top of the 140 tree.

Why bother being a pro boxer when all you're goona do is jab. Just become a jabbing trainer, teach kids how to throw a good jab. Honestly, jabbing is nice, but it does not automatically win you fights if you land a lot of it.Outlanding your opponent in the jabbing department does not null the fact that your opponent outlanded you in the power punching stats in the majority of the rounds.

Compubox is crap bro. I explain compubox to casuals like this, if boxing were football & we went by stats, Tony Romo would be one of the best QBs in NFL history. & to be quite honest, for all those supposed power punches Garcia landed, Garcia looked to be the one that was beat up. & just because Herrera isnt making sweat fly off his opponents head with a punch dont mean a power shot aint landing.

But he lost to Benavidez, so wouldn't that make him the real champion?

How is that you gave the jabber the fight over the power puncher though? Please explain this to me. Did you also give Trout the fight over Canelo? Do you always give the jabber the fight over the power puncher? I just don't understand.

And it's not about "looks". It's not about who looks like what. That's not how boxing is scored. Maybe in a street fight you lost but your foe looks more busted than you, you can claim you won and people would believe you. But boxing is not scored on a busted lip or swollen eye.
