This is the same underachieving loser who dreams of being the next Floyd but can only match Floyd on the "obnoxious-meter"..... actually surpassing his sensei in that regard.

Matthysse loses to a very respectable opponent who had several inches on him in both height and reach, not to mention a probably 20 pounds in weight..... a total style nightmare for Lucas..... and now the guy's a bum. Overrated, never deserved any credit.... how could anybody have lost to this bum.

    Boxing fans are a hoot.
exactly. postol is a very very very special fighter. no shame that lucas lost to him. meanwhile broner fighting someone who hasn't fought in over a year for a vacant paper belt.

the postol fight confirmed some bad things about matthysse that have been in question since the garcia fight. of course he is no bum, but it's certainly the case that he isn't as good as some people had hoped he was

Who the hell is hyping Broner up? Where are all these posts because I'm not seeing them.

Lucas on the other hand is being criticised by a few because he quit, and that seems to upset you somehow. I can guarantee you'd be ****ting on Broner if the roles were reversed.

Lucas was beat by a quality fighter. Broner beat an ok fighter.

The only comparison i would make between the 2 fights is that they took place on the same night.

They both fought respectable opponents. While Lucas came up a bit short; Remember that he was the favorite, challenged more experienced opponents with more notable names on his resume. In addition, he was the front runner to challenge Manny Pacquiao in his next bout.

Adrien on the other hand defeated a former two time world champion with a few notable names on his resume which he either has defeated or had controversial losses with, They are: Souleymane M'baye, Juan Guzman and most thought he even defeated Jessie Vargas but wasn't given the nod.

So Adrien should be given more credit for his win against Allakhverdiev than Matthysse's did for his loss to Postol because Khabib was the better fighter. Moreover, Broner just so happened to win his fourth world title in as many weight classes against him in the process.

You have a point, but you are not putting everything into context.

People over rated and got way too excited when Lucas KTFO of Mike Dallas Jr. He was never this good. People also got way too excited over Broner because he beat DeMarco. He was always flawed as well. Move forward through everything til we got to last night.

Most of NSB had written Broner off. I know I did. He was out of shape, lazy and has looked like crap against low level opponents. I was more impressed that he actually got in shape for the fight than I was with the win. Broner's win doesn't mean he is back IMO, but his being in shape suggests he may be changing in to a real professional, which will make him a better fighter.

Most of NSB hasn't written off Lucas despite his obvious flaws. He still gets hyped because of his power when IMO he doesn't deserve to be. He just isn't as good as so many on NSB thinks he is and the reaction to his loss is more about the posters than about Lucas. Lucas isn't a bum, but he was never on the level that so many on NSB put him on.

yeah now broner only looks good vs c class fighters??? smh, the 2 times he lost he was really in a division he didn't belong in. when he fought paulie (who is greatly disrespected as a boxer on this site) you could tell AB didn't belong at 147, at 140 even though he still needs to get better in areas I feel he is better suited for the division.... he talked himself into a situation he wasn't ready for in jumping to 147 fighting chino and got his azz whooped but he had his spots, against shawn porter he was just out muscled and shouldn't have made the fight, hopefully he and his team realizes hes just not a welterweight and belongs at 140 and builds in that divison... but he beat a former champ sat and looked pretty good and now hes beating bums? but u lames are making every excuse in the book for lucas the quitter even using the "health comes first" statement after bashing others for using the same logic???? you guys are crazy

There is a great deal of hypocrisy when it comes to Broner's title belts. every boxer that moves up and gets immediate title shots, even coming off a loss, is because they have powerful people and a network backing them.

That said, Broner's laziness, lack of staying in shape, not making weight have limited him. He has talent but has not improved at all since we 1st saw him. If he gets in shape and tries to learn something other than raps or jokes, he might have a chance to change his career but he hasn't shown that he is a top tier boxer IMO.
