That's pretty much it. maybe he can make somewhat of a comeback but at his age and having lost his best chances its just one of those guys hardcore boxing fans will remember fondly but not a well known world champion which no one can deny he was more than capable of being if he had better or more influential people around him at the right time.
You have the perfect example in your own sigline. Maravilla Martinez, a true ALL TIME GREAT TALENT. but just didnt have the chances to rule as a world champ until he was freaking 40 years old. Maravilla had speed, power, and skills, and he would have been a much better champ for say 5 or 6 years instead of the shtty paper champs we see floating around so much.

    Why so serious?

Matt was throwing so many rabbit punches last night, I fully expected a fluffy tail to sprout from his arse.
The same rabbit punches he landed on Garcia. But the peasants will insist it was the low blows that shut Lucas's eye... or made him submit in round 11 to Danny.

      Denial is comedy.

"Yeah but... Lucas only punched Danny in the back of the head all night because in Argentina that is how they show respect though."

Whatever yanks your chain, dude. The headbutt did occur, I'll mention it. It clearly bothered Matthysse at the time. Not an excuse... a fact. He got KO'ed... yeah. By a punch. He didn't get back up. No excuses. Why the hate? Did you have a bet on the fight?

Lucas represents everything right with boxing, and he got short changed for it.
Basically. And that's why boxing fans still respect Lucas more than Danny
