I guess all of you guys who said on Friday that Matthyse would be a great opponent for Pac were..... whats that word again?..... oh right..... wrong !

Seriously, how could Matthyse have been a better opponent than Marquez, Khan, Brook, Crawford?

That may have seemed silly last Friday, but it seems real dumb right now.

Well they were expecting Matthysse to demonstrate that he is a top fighter by overcoming a tough challenge, which would have made a Pac/Matthysse fight justifiable. They were wrong but it wasn't like there were a huge number of people confidently picking Postol to win.

I more or less agree with this. I think Postol > Matthysse was a bigger win as I consider Matthysse to be a better fighter than Provo and the win was quite decisive. Outside of that difference, the scenarios are actually quite similar. Postol would probably agree to a fight in Macau at a weight of 144lbs, as Algieri did, but Team Pac must know that is a recipe for doing ~400k buys.

But Khan/Pac would at least double that, and they wouldn't have to pay Khan more than those extra buys would be worth.

Or at the very least, team Pac could think of half a dozen more preferable names.

Once Manny beats you, then you'll be back to being a secondary guy in most people's like an Algieri. Go clear out the division instead, which is very possible.
