so was his fight with ruslan. ruslan came damn close to ending tim bradley's career. there's an interview with miguel diaz where he talks about tim getting beat up in training camp for the marquez fight, and looking like he should stop boxing. eventually tim turned it around, and they went on with the fight. evidently his memory was fading, and he wasn't able to string together good rounds in sparring and in the gym. that's straight up head trauma right there.

i do think bradley is the better fighter in both ability and resume, and i'd have picked him to beat matthysse, but that doesn't mean matthysse isn't a world class fighter.

you've been told that your definition of "world class boxer" is wrong. just learn and move on.
Merriam Webster defines World Class as "being of the highest caliber in the world". There was a time when 140 had Garcia,Bradley,Khan,Maidana in it including Lucas all four of those guys are "World Class",all four possessing very different styles,is/was Lucas on their level? No. So surely he can't be couldn't be considered "World Class" then... Now that those guys left he should be considered World Class because he's a cut above the rest in his division right?..., WRONG... Postol and Crawford are and he's a notch slightly bow them. Throughout his whole career he's never been viewed as the best in his div. whether it was a hot div or not... So I think my definition of "World Class" is a little closer to what the truth is than yours.

He lost to every good fighter he's faced except for Peterson...

Bradley was considered top of that weight class for a long time due to his wins over Alexander and Peterson.

Matthysse beat them both clearer than Bradley did.

matthyse did better against alexander than maidana did. maidana didn't look like he belonged in the same "class" as devon alexander.

better against provnikov than bradley. bradley doesn't remember a thing about that fight

better against danny than khan, who got knocked out.

better than khan against peterson, who lost the UD to peterson [who may have been on drugs.]

better against chop chop than maidana.

need me to keep going ?
did you even watch these fights, or are you new?

you can keep digging, if you'd like, or you can learn from your mistakes. you don't know what a world class fighter is.

what you should do is recgonize that i'm the best this fourm has to offer, and just shut up and listen when i'm talking. me and andre ward are going places.

You're one of the guys who are the problem with boxing. A guy loses a fight and he's a bum, overrated, exposed, etc...
Did he quit? Maybe.. Or maybe he got his face caved in by that last punch and couldn't take anymore.. When we see you in the ring getting beat up we can make a post about how much of s bum you are too. Until then we can all be memorized by your knowledge of the sport..
Wrong. I've always viewed him as subpar. I bet Postol Saturday night and actually won a decent amount of money and was shocked to see him that much of an underdog (not 50/50 as you claim)... That's simply because of the hype that surrounded Mathysse. After this fight the bookies and the fans will evaluate him correctly or guys like me will continue to make a killing betting against him.

Lucas is world class. He actually should has been champion after knocking out the champ Peterson, remember, before Peterson beat Garcia's ass.

lucas should have wins over devon alexander, zab judah, he ko'ed peterson (who was ibf champ at the time), he beat provodnikov, he ko'ed humberto soto, etc.

lucas is world class it's just that postol is a very very special fighter!!

he was basically a 1.9-2 / 1 underdog, from what i saw. lots of savvy boxing people jumped on it.

i picked postol to beat matthysse myself. not because he was never "world class" but because he was fadin,g and the style was all wrong.

oh, and half a foot of functional height

people are forgetting an important aspectof the fight, and that's physical makeup. HBO listed matthysse as 5'8ish, which is BS.

matthysse and alexander are roughly the same height. i've spoken face to face with alexander, and he's probably 5'7" at the absolutel max. i'm 5'9" and i was looking right over his head without any issues. matthysse is shorter than danny, peterson, khan, etc, and they're all in teh 5'9" range. postol's shoulders are on the level with matthyusse's face. that's a huge disadvantage, and one you rarely see in a boxing match with a weight classs.
