People should stop acting like Postol did not clinch excessively.

It was painful to watch early on. One guy clinches more than he should. The other not being able to fight inside.

It became fun to watch later on because the ref at least recognized the clinches just too much to have decent action.

Impressive win by Postol thoug. I just hope his resemblance with Wlad does not carry to the fighting style.

that's not true. he's terrible against anyone who holds him and won't let go. there's literally nothing he could do but either give up or throw rabbit punches. he tried both in fact. how do you land a clean punch on someone who has your arm clamped and his head in your chest? reposition yourself? he has your arm clamped so you can't move your feet or you go tumbling down.

So the guy putting on the ear mitts and bending down like an idiot, with his head on the other guy's chest trying to load a punch before the holding initiation even occurs can't do anything? He can't fight inside. It's funny as hell because the one combo he lands on Postal while hitting him to the body and going to the head smoothly happened earlier in the fight and it was not a product of clinching? It can be done, he just happens to never do the same thing again. Matthysse sucks so much bad at being a brawler/boxer or whatever the hell he is. Dude has some idiot corner men and can't adapt in a fight. I cannot believe how he stayed in the center of the ring trying to box a lengthy and technically rigid fighter. That just blows my mind. No pressure, one step forward, goes back, and tries to counter the taller dude from his back foot? Lord have mercy.

a fair fight? yeah postol ko'd him after he ****** the life from him for 8 straight rounds of clinching. you don't think that effected the fight at all? how is that not a dq? how is that any different than what henry awindade did to lewis. if awindade was around nowadays you would probably think he's the best boxer on the planet.

Why didn't Matthysse go for the midsection in the clinches? Why did he continuously emphasize on rabbit punching? Why did he continue to throw wide shots up close knowing they would easily get smothered?

Matthysse quit like a bozo, which was quite surprising. I will say this though about the fight, Postol's boxing style is ****ing trash!! Smh I hate what's happening in Boxing man. Seriously this is some bull****.

The clinching was bad early, but Postol was given the warning and stopped because of them. It's really not that bad.

Yeah the clinching was terrible. Reis should have taken a point away instead of warning a thousand times and breaking down the physics of rabbit punches. But hey at least he bothered to acknowledge it unlike every other ref.
