Duhaupas was as much of an underdog as any of those you mentioned, because he is even more lightly regarded than they were. For example, compare his pathetically plodding footwork to Monroe's and Caparello's.
He was chosen because he's weak. There were MANY heavyweights (Povetkin, Jennings, Browne, Mansour, etc) who wanted a shot at Wilder, but were seen by Deontay's management as too dangerous.
Mohammedi was chosen because he was mandatory. Stevens and Caparello were chosen because they were arguably the best who were available and willing.
Nobody is ducking Wilder - everybody wants a crack at him.
