That makes him a really special fighter apparently.
Algieri not only won a World title, he did it in an Upset of the Year against a Provodnikov with a lot of momentum and hype.
I mean really what is Chaves' selling point? He Drew with Bradley? He was winning doe till he got DQed? or He can punch? Even the last one is relevant cuz of Khan. Should really be called:
Brook-Chaves: Clutching for straws to sell the fight.Last edited by Box-Office; 09-28-2015, 10:19 PM.

Algieri pulled a major upset as he outboxed Ruslan Provodnikov to win a split decision and a junior welterweight belt on Saturday night at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn.
With most of the 6,218 fans cheering on Long Island's Algieri, he survived two knockdowns in the first round to prevail in a fight that many also saw for the relentlessly aggressive Provodnikov.
In the end, two judges scored the bout 114-112 for Algieri, while the third scored it for Provodnikov, 117-109. ESPN.com had it for the heavier-hitting Provodnikov, 115-111.

Algieri was a Bob Arum hype job from the start! Chaves was winning the fight against Rios before the DQ. I think neither Chaves nor Algieri are top fighters in the WW division.
May 29, 2015:
On Friday night at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York, Khan used blinding hand speed and superior movement to earn a unanimous-decision victory over the rugged Chris Algieri (20-2) in the main event of the Premier Boxing Champions on Spike TV. It wasn't a sparkling performance from Khan, but it was a win nonetheless. I scored the fight 115-113 in favor of Khan...
Algieri gained some momentum in the seventh and eighth rounds with his pressure and effective body punching. To the dismay of his trainer, Virgil Hunter, Khan began to run more than he was fighting. His lack of assertiveness let Algieri back into the fight and made the final result a little closer than it needed to be...
While the performance was a winning one for Khan, it didn't leave many members of the boxing media impressed.

It's a dangerous fight for Brook simply because of that reason. He won't get much acclaim or credit for the victory from the unwashed masses (Khantards in particular fall under this category) but real fighters and genuine fans of the sport will respect the win.
Thurman and Bradley have already said it will be a very tough fight and both would give Brook major credit if he finished Chaves.
