Comments Thread For: Khan: Beating Pacquiao Might Get Me Mayweather!

Former champion Amir Khan feels confident that a victory over ex-stablemate Manny Pacquiao could lure Floyd Mayweather Jr. out of retirement.

Khan (31-3, 19KOs) has been inactive since winning a twelve round unanimous decision over Chris Algieri in May. He was trying to secure Mayweather for a showdown on September 12th at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. Mayweather passed him over and instead selected Andre Berto.

The Bolton fighter is now in talks to face Pacquiao (57-6-2, 38KOs), and feels a victory will be enough to get Mayweather Jr (49-0, 26KOs) in the ring.

as much as i would love to see PAC beat the crap out of Khan, i think it would be more fun for him to NOT get a big fight and just have a total meltdown

Did he say this again or is it still the same interview they are quoting?

Oh god, this is just sad. Khan is sounding like a drug addict trying to get a fix. Next thing we know,he's going to be offering bjs to mayweather, in order to get a fight.

Sadly, that might end up being the angle if this fight actually gets made.

If Khan wins, he puts pressure on Mayweather especially if he looks good doing it. If Pacquaio wins, they'll say that he beat the guy Mayweather avoided and demand a rematch.

Al Haymon, I've never asked you for anything in the past but please use your powers to prevent this from happening.

                    Let me enlighten you.

If you've followed Floyd throughout his career then you know he doesn't select opponents with a longer reach than him.

They can be taller shorter black Mexican it doesn't matter. What matters to Floyd is the reach.

I looked it up check it out.

                    Khan's 71" reach is a near equal to Floyd's 72"
