Only a few guys left and they're at the end of their careers.

Don't forget Morales, Marquez, Barrera, Cotto, Mosley, Hatton etc etc etc the list goes on.

Say what you want but it's been a good era and there's only a handful of the old guard left.

every name here is part of 2 generations.

It would be more accurate to say it's the end of the mid 90s class. Pacquiao, Wlad, May and Hopkins all started professionally or became recognised in the mid 90s.

And I will miss some of these guys. Pacquiao has maybe 2 years left, Mayweather will come back for a bit but Wlad and Hops probably have 12 months max.

Who do you guys think the next stars will be. Thurman? Gonzalez? Canelo is my best guess, Thurman needs to start fighting the other WW's.

Wlad is on the way out also.

Exactly, I'm just hoping plenty of good, solid fights are continued to be made between good fighters, that's enough to keep everyone happy and keep the sport ticking over, someone will pop up eventually, don't be surprised if someone creeps out the woodwork in 18 months who is a big force.

                Golovkin.

                It's a shame he's 33.

I would replace Hopkins with Marquez. Hopkins just isn't that important in the grand scheme of things.

Marquez has better wins and fight of the year candidates under his belt. Plus is the first Mexican 4 division champion.

As Mak said there won't be a stand out star for at least a year, just a lot of very good fighters we can appreciate, there just isn't a guy that stands out above everyone right now.
